When I first began using Diigo, I was not a fan of it. It seemed confusing and I did not know how to get to our group from the home page. After getting in our group and seeing my peers post, I think it is a great resource. It provides the descriptions of the articles and tags which I think can be useful when looking up information.       I think blogging so far has been great. It is usually an easy task but still allows you to reflect in your work and think about topics that may not be in mind. During my blogging process I have learned various new skills. For example, creating the teacher newsletter required me to learn multiple new tools on Microsoft Word.      An interesting  Web 2.0 tool that I could possible use in teaching is a Facebook group I found. This group allows teachers to asks for ideas for certain topics or ask for advice. I think it can become useful in the future when I am first beginning my teacher career and if I am feeling a little lost. I know there are multip

My early experiences with twitter have been very minimal, but informative. For example, I began to follow FSU COE, and other education profiles. The fsu COE, twitter account posts announcements about what is happening in the college and deadlines. I believe that could be beneficial because it will allow me to familiarize myself with programs/events in the future when I am accepted into the college. Twitter can be helpful in my future career by allowing me to connect with other teachers that cold give me advice or vise versa.       The digital divide affects student success in schools because it creates barriers for certain students to access online homework, test prep, or help on the internet just in general. If a student is incapable of having access to the internet or having a device that could allow them to use the internet, it could affect their academic success. In my future classroom, I want to make sure all my students are capable of doing their work in school and out of s

I chose to select a standard from the third grade technology standards, because I want to be a third grade teacher. The standard I chose seems important because it would allow my students to build their technology skills doing it in a creative way and having being able to collaborate with their classmates. I think I feel mostly prepared to implement this standard because of my experience with technology and similar websites that I have used. I know for sure though that in order to fulfill this standard, I would need to get more familiar with online video creators because I have not had much experience with it.      I chose to use the lesson "Finding Fractions at Camp: Fractions on a Number Line". This lesson is explaining how to read fractions on a number line. I think it is a great example because it went in depth about how the fraction would look on a number line and explained why an even used visual representation. It shoes various examples of fractions and their visu

Copyright is the term used to allow protection from people stealing ideas a certain individual created. For example, if a writer created a blog, and someone copied their work, the copyright law would protect the original writer’s work and even legal charges could be brought amongst the person who used their work. Fair Use, is permission granted to use people’s work in certain criteria. Fro example, if student is doing a research project, and wanted to use a small section of a person’s idea, fair use would allow for them to do so. In the future, I hope to avoid having issues with copyright by asking permission for creators works before using them in my classroom. I also know there are websites that you could purchase teacher’s lessons, and I think this would be a great option to avoid issues. As for my students, I hope to teach them how to be creative. While I know research will be used for projects and other schoolwork, I could teach my students about fair use and how to se other

As I have progressed in my school years, I have become more familiar with features on Microsoft Word. I have used it to mostly to write essays or complete school work that required typing. Even though I know how to use a couple features, I know there are many other features on the software that I have never used or have forgotten how to use. Personally, Microsoft Word has always been my go to software. I feel like I have always been able to utilize the software for many assignments.  The standard that is most meaningful to me is Designer. This standard can be explained as a way to teach all students by accommodating lessons to allow the student to understand and learn in a way that they are familiar and comfortable with. This standard is important for K-12 educators because it will allow for student learning to grow by teaching students in ways that are most effective for them. Using this standard could also allow for student engagement and progression to increase. I agre

My name is Guadalupe Jimenez, but I go by Lupita. I am a freshman at Florida State University and I will be majoring in Elementary Education. I am from Naples, Florida, but moved to Tallahassee recently. I am a shy person, but can be very outgoing once I get to know you better.      I have used various forms of technology in an education setting in my prior classes. I have  utilized Kahoot, Prezzi, Flipgrid in classes to take review for quizzes or create my own quizzes or presentations. In this class I utilized Flipgrid last week to create my introduction video. I have no issue utilizing these resources and think they are pretty basic and simple to understand and create.      Some personal learning networks I have use to help me improve my learning is Quizlet, Grammarly, Khan Academy and hands on experience. Throughout school I would use these resources to help me study and allow me grow my knowledge in areas I was struggling. Having hands on experience helps me stay focused and
